Meet Robin Williams.

Robin Williams was born in Chicago, IL (Southside) and graduated from George Henry Corliss high school. After graduating from high school, she joined the US Marine Corps and served on Active Duty from 2011 to 2015. After serving on Active Duty, she continued to serve in the Reserves (USMC) from 2015 to 2018. Robin served her country with grace and dignity. She received an honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps. While serving in the Marines, Robin earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.

American Red Cross

After the Marine Corps, she joined the American Red Cross family. Robin worked as the assistant manager in the international Social Services department. She reconnected families displaced by war back together and provided countless resources to Active Duty military personal that needed assistance. Robin was also over the veteran program located at the Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center. The program was sponsored by the American Red Cross and provided hygiene products to veterans in the spinal cord injury unit of the hospital.

A Hero Needs a Story

Working for the American Red Cross motivated Robin to start “A Hero Needs a Story” organization. HNS (A Hero Needs a Story) provides a platform for individuals to share their testimonies with people all around the world. Also provide resources to those who are in need and sponsor proms in the minority communities. Robin donated over 500 books to veterans in the spinal cord injury unit at the Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center. Robin used her own resources to provide women from the Middle East with sewing machines and fabric. She ensured the women enrolled in her sewing course was taught how to sew and was giving the tools needed to flourish in the community.

Community Outreach

Robin truly has a heart for the people and has dedicated her life to serving others. While working for the Police Department, Robin earned her master’s degree in criminal management and justice administration. She uses her platform to address bridging the gap between citizens and Police Officers. She stands behind the oath she took as a Police Officer, devoting herself to “serving and protecting” the community. She is an advocate for helping others and promotes her motto “I am you and you are me” in her everyday life. She now has decided to answer a higher calling and has set her sights on becoming the Mayor of Houston, Texas.
