Judge Amber Givens is a dedicated public servant currently presiding over the 282nd Judicial District Court in Dallas County, Texas. Before taking the bench in 2015, she served as an Assistant District Attorney in New York and Texas for eight years. Judge Givens holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Tuskegee University and a Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law. Passionate about justice, she implemented the Word of Mouth series and Empowerment Program to promote transparency and support probationers. A Texas Bar Foundation Fellow and recipient of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Outstanding Mentor award, Judge Givens also serves on multiple community boards and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Concord Church.
